Burning permits suspended for today

Bryce Romine, Osage County Emergency Management Director, announced that today is a no burn day due to a very high fire danger.

The rangeland and fire danger index will be in the very high category today. Very high fire danger means fire control will be very difficult and require extended effort. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

The national weather service in Topeka has stated that an unsettled week makes for challenging fire weather conditions.

Winds will be on the increase throughout the day.
