Fall festival slated for Saturday in Lyndon

LYNDON—Lyndon’s Fall Fest will be celebrated from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5. Events will be held downtown and on the courthouse lawn.

“We’ve had a pretty steady demand for the Fall Fest,” said Lyndon Mayor Brandon Smith. “Lots of people asked when we were going to have it again. What’s exciting is how more people want to get involved in it.”

Events include a pancake feed from 7 to 10 a.m., swap meet from 8 to noon, an open house at Cotton O’Neil Clinic from 10 to 11 a.m., and a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Afternoon and evening activities include a book sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; student art show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., silent auction from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., food court 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Kansas City Chiefs’ Cheerleaders performing from 2 to 4 p.m., wagon rides from 2 to 6 p.m., beer garden from 4 to 9:30 p.m., dance performance 4 p.m., and a street dance from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Childen’s activities will be a bounce house from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., coins in the corn game from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., dunk tank from noon to 6 p.m., quartermania from 1 to 3 p.m., touch a truck from noon to 2 p.m., pumpkin painting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and glitter tattoos and hairdos from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Prizes include four Kansas City Royals baseball tickets, four T-Bones baseball tickets and four Renaissance Festival tickets. All proceeds from the Fall Fest will benefit the community directly.
