Police report thefts around Osage City

OSAGE CITY—Residents of Osage City are encouraged to put valuables away and lock doors after a number of vehicle and business burglaries.

Osage City Police Department released a statement about the burglaries Oct. 27.

“So far the break-ins have been mostly in the western area of town,” said Fred Nech, police chief.

Nech also reported stolen items including tools and audio equipment.

“Two businesses have reported break-ins, one of those reported tools missing and another a computer and small amount of cash,” said Nech.

These burglaries took place Oct. 23 and 24 and appear to be connected according to Nech.

“There was another burglary Oct. 20, but we’ve solved that one,” said Nech.

Nech said the Oct. 20 burglary is not related to other instances.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity or suspicious persons is encouraged to call the department at (785) 528-3131.
