LYNDON—A focused group of fundraisers brought another successful year for the Relay For Life fundraising walk at the Lyndon High School track and field.

“The evening was filled with lots of fun and activities,” said organizer Jenny Rogers. “We’ve currently raised over $42,000.”

RJ’s Auction Service led the effort among the 15 registered teams, bringing in $7,595 to “Help Give Cancer the Boot.” The Polka Dot Forget Me Nots raised $7,122, and Lyndon State Bank Spur The Cure raised $4,010.

Top fundraising individuals were Delmer Haufler with $1,425, Tammi Brabb with $780 and Barb Prost with $620.

The “Queen of Relay” effort raised another $467. The competition was held for male participants from the teams and was won by Harmon Dental’s BooBees.

Chair Julie Trout and co-chair Angie Gardner presented the opening ceremony. The event featured luminaries around the track, a survivor lap, scavenger hunt and an idol contest.
