Sunset Stroll sees rise in participation

OVERBROOK—The fourth annual Sunset Stroll brought the largest turnout for the event, with as many as 500 pink and tie-dye clad participants in the fundraiser.

“330 preregistered, and many more registered at the event,” said organizer Carla Hazen.

Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships to be awarded to Santa Fe Trail High School students in memory of Sarah Graham and Leslie Riner, SFT alumni who lost their battles with cancer.

The stroll was led for another year by a vintage pink tractor, owned by Harold Denholm, Tonganoxie, and driven by his son, Greg Denholm, and daughter, Carol Fellows.

Emcee for the event was Dusty Workman, with additional speakers including Derrick Dahl, Hazen, and Overbrook Mayor Don Schultz.
