Springtime, who isn’t ready for this season following a long, cold winter? Spring not only reminds us to freshen up our homes but to also take a fresh start, a fresh approach to rethinking old eating habits. It’s the perfect time to do some spring cleaning by making healthy food swaps kick-starting improvements in your health. The more you are able to make healthy eating choices automatic and a part of your lifestyle, the healthier you will become in both mind and body.

Car show cancelled

Twin Lakes Cruisers cancel Saturday car show

It is with great disappointment that the Twin Lakes Cruisers will be canceling Saturday’s car show. After watching the weather all week, the organization met and decided, due to the weather forecast it was not worth the risk of other car enthusiasts coming to the show.

The organization also felt that it would no be a good turnout anyway due to the weather forecast of snow and sleet that is being predicting. The Cruisn n' Cook'n show has officially been cancelled.

Why “crash” diets capsize weight loss efforts

One of the worst things you can do when attempting to reach a healthier body weight is to go on a ‘crash” diet. Crash dieting takes on many forms, fasting, detox programs, yo-yo diets, ‘cleanses,’ or perhaps extremely low calorie liquid diets, each examples of radical calorie deprivation all in the name of losing weight quickly.

No matter what method a crash diet may use, no doubt you will lose some weight fairly rapidly but at a cost to your health, metabolism, and ability to sustain weight loss long-term.
