TOPEKA - Margaret M. Dial, Topeka, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at a Topeka care facility. She was 78.

She was born Jan. 21, 1940, at Burlingame, the daughter of David S. and Reva Rogers Love. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1958.

She loved music and sang solos in the Federated Church choir. She was a cheerleader, class president and played community sports in the summer.

Joyce Stallbaumer

Died – April 24, 2018

WAKARUSA — Joyce Elaine Hug Stallbaumer, Wakarusa, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 61.

She grew up on the Hug family farm in Scranton, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Livingston Hug. She attended Carbondale Grade School and graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1975. She ran track in high school where she was a state qualifier and held the record in the mile for many years.

OSAGE CITY — Gladys “Gladdie” Walton Girsch died April 24, 2018, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. She was 95.

She was born Oct. 10, 1922, at Carbondale, the daughter of John W. and Hannah Clayton Walton. She graduated from Garnett High School in 1940. She attended Emporia State College, Washburn and Tulsa Business College.

Ada L. Bourne

OVERBROOK — Ada L. Bourne died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Brookside Manor, Overbrook. She was 92.

She was born Feb. 9, 1926, near Lyndon, the daughter of George E. And Gertrude Gordon Allison. She graduated from Lyndon High School.

She married Robert Bourne. He preceded her in death in 2010.

She was a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She volunteered for the election board and census. She lived in Osage City since her husband’s death in 2010.

John R. Kunard

OTTAWA — John R. Kunard, formerly of Lake Pomona, died Sunday, April 28, 2018, at his home in Ottawa. He was 82.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at North Baptist Church, Ottawa. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Baptist Church and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.

ALVA, Okla. — Curtis Lynn Shirley passed from this life Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the Share Convalescent Home, Alva, Okla., with his wife, Shelley, and family by his side. He was 60 years, 2 months and 28 days old.

He was born Jan. 18, 1958, at Topeka, the son of Cherry Webb Shirley and Charles Shirley.

OSAGE CITY — Ida M. Odle, formerly of Osage City, died Dec. 20, 2017.

Graveside interment services will be 2 p.m. on April 27 at Homestead Cemetery, Cedar Point.

Toni McIver

Died April 13, 2018

CARBONDALE - Toni McIver, 54 Carbondale Kansas passed away 13 April 2018 following a two-year battle with cancer. She was 54.

She was born at Joplin Mo., the daughter of the late James Carlisle and Peggy Carlisle.

She married Roy McIver on May 25, 1985. They were married for 32 years. He survives.

She graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School and Allen County Community College. Previous employment was with Mize Houser and Company P.A. in accounts payable.

She loved bowling and traveling to tournaments.

Nancy H. Fike

CARBONDALE - Nancy H. Fike, Carbondale, died at home on April 14, 2018. She was 63.

She was born Oct. 3, 1954, at Junction City, the daughter of Donald and Carol Kurtz. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1972, and then received her degree from Clark Business School.

She worked at Merchants National Bank, Columbian Bank and most recently was an invaluable office manager at Callahan Creek.

David Bruce Lieber

March 11, 1961 – April 14, 2018

MANHATTAN — David Bruce Lieber, Osage City, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan. He was 57.

He was born March 11, 1961, at Emporia, the son of William Dean and Joan S. Skonberg Lieber. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1979 and later attended Kansas State University.

He worked as a truck driver for several years before retiring to help his dad run the family farm.

He married Connie Murphy March 28, 1992. She survives. The couple had two children, Joshua and Kylie.
