Eunice Christina (Pohl) Breithaupt

Jan. 12, 1924 – Jan. 25, 2019

OVERBROOK — Eunice Christina Pohl Breithaupt, Overbrook, went to be with the Lord Jan. 25, 2019. She was 95.

She was born Jan. 12, 1924, at the family home in rural Baldwin City, the daughter of Henry and Alma Pohl, the youngest of three children.

She married Fred Breithaupt April 4, 1945, at her parent’s home at Ottawa. He preceded her in death. Fred and Eunice farmed and raised cattle for over 50 years on their farm outside of Overbrook.

Norman "Node" Gerisch

July 7, 1923 – Jan. 25, 2019

TOPEKA — Norman "Node" Gerisch, Overbrook, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was 95.

He was born July 7, 1923, at Richland, the son of Charles and Kathrine Sheetz Gerisch. He lived most of his life around Richland and Overbrook communities.

He was a farmer all of his life and a dozer operator in construction. He was a member of Masonic Lodge at Richland and Overbrook for 74 years and Arab Shrine for many years.

William “Bill” Donald Linden Jr.

Aug. 14, 1949 – Jan. 26, 2019

TOPEKA — William “Bill” Donald Linden Jr., Topeka, died Jan. 26, 2019. He was 69.

He was born Aug. 14, 1949, at Emporia, the son of William Donald and Nathalee Harrison Linden. He graduated from Overbrook High School with class of 1967.

He excelled at sports in his school years and was an avid Jayhawk, Chiefs and Royals fan.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a niece.

Glenn Allen Adamson

Jan. 5, 1952 – Jan. 21, 2019

OSAGE CITY — Glenn Allen Adamson, Osage City, and a former resident of Cashmere, Wash., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019. He was 67.

He was born Jan. 5, 1952, at Wenatchee, Wash., the son of Allen T. and Marion E. Brown Adamson. He grew up in Cashmere.

He was active in many youth organizations. Some of his favorite times were spent visiting his grandparents in Chehalis, Wash.

Earnest Wheeler

June 29, 1935 – Jan. 24, 2019

OSAGE CITY — Earnest Wheeler died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. He was 83.

He was born June 29, 1935, at Guthrie, Okla., the son of Henry and Ethel Casey Wheeler Sr. He lived in Arkansas City for many years and lived in Osage City since 1997.

He worked as a mechanic for General Electric Aircraft, Arkansas City. He was a member of Salt Creek Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, Lyndon.

He married Sue Hix, Jan. 26, 1959, at Stillwater, Okla. She survives.

Brad Helberg

April 24, 1973 – Jan. 22, 2019

READING — Brad Helberg died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at his home in Reading. He was 45.

He was born April 24, 1973, at Emporia, the son of Martin Merle and Joyce Marie Lawrence Helberg. He graduated from Northern Heights High School and graduated from Flint Hills Vo-Tech with a degree in auto mechanics.

He was employed with Williams Automotive since Nov. 20, 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and riding his motorcycle. He loved spending time on the farm with his animals.

Dorothy Evarts

Jan. 28, 1929 – Jan. 21, 2019

OVERBROOK — Dorothy Evarts, Scranton, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. She was 89.

She was born Jan. 28, 1929, at Sparks, Ga., the daughter of Leonard and Jewell Hunter Lott. She grew up in Georgia and lived in Scranton since 1957.

She was a homemaker. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, canning, cooking southern food and spoiling her nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She married Rolo Evarts April 18, 1957, at Adel, Georgia. He survives of the home.

Fay Lucile Noah

March 13, 1928 – Jan. 15, 2019

SHAWNEE — Fay Lucile Noah, Osage City, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee. She was 90.

She was born March 13, 1928, at Cabool, Mo., the daughter of Paul Andrew and Rachel Esther Bray Altis.

She married Howard Warren Welch. They later divorced. She married James Noah, Feb. 27, 1982. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2012.

She lived in Osage City for 23 years. She owned and operated a restaurant.

Louis “Carl” Braden

May 13, 1951 – Jan. 17, 2019

CARBONDALE — Louis “Carl” Braden, Carbondale, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019. He was 67.

He was born May 13, 1951, at Topeka, the son of Bert and Pauline Wendland Braden. He was a 1970 graduate of Highland Park High School.

He was employed by American Linen and retired from BRB Contractors. He was a member of Carbondale Lions Club and Carbondale Fire Department.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, having breakfast with friends, metal detecting and traveling all 50 states and Europe.

Kathleen "Kathy" Kessinger

Died – Jan. 13, 2019

LAWRENCE — Kathleen Kessinger, Lawrence, formerly of Burlingame, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at Lawrence. She was 71.

She, along with her husband, Kurt, were the owners of Osage County Chronicle newspaper for many years.

She was cremated. Service will be held at a later date. Information on services and a full obit will be published in The Osage County Herald-Chronicle, its website and Facebook page when information is provided.

Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, is assisting the family.
