Lars Brant Allen

May 21, 1963 – Oct. 27, 2014

OMAHA, Neb.—Lars Brant Allen, Ottawa, died Oct. 27, 2014, at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Neb. He was 51.

He was born May 21, 1963, at Emporia, the son of Gerald Allen and Joanne Street Allen. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1981, and Salina Area Technical College in 1983. Salina Area Technical College later merged with Kansas State University.

He worked, as an airplane mechanic for McFarlane Aviation, Inc. and Executive Beechcraft, Inc. He was a member of Life Church, Ottawa. He was the lead singer of the Tone Benders and performed at cancer benefits, weddings, and anniversaries.

He is survived by his parents; the love of his life, Vicki Gerstner, Ottawa; a son, Jesse Allen and wife, Anahi, Avondale, Ariz.; a daughter, Shannon Hodges and husband, Chris, Lawrence; two stepdaughters, Tori Keller and husband, Mark “Cat” and Stephanie Hines and husband, Clayton; a stepson, Wil Wierman; nine grandchildren, Emilia, Anthony, Jasmine, Ebony, Phalen, Myles, McKenna, Addison and Brayden; a brother, Michael “Chuggy” Allen and wife, Maureen Cameron, Olathe; a sister, Katrina Poeta and husband, Dan, Hendersonville, N.C.; a niece, Gabrielle; a nephew, Brendon; in-laws, Connie Williams, Rick Stenzle and wife, Debbie, Pat Gerstner, and Mike Gerstner and wife, Kathy; and mother-in-law, Rosalie Gerstner.

The family welcomes friends for a visitation service 9-10:30 a.m. Nov. 1 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will be 4 p.m. at Stafford Cemetery, Stafford.
