Wilma B. Smith

CARBONDALE—Wilma B. Cronn Smith, Lyndon, died Aug. 7, 2014, in a Carbondale nursing home. She was 94.

She was born Nov. 1, 1919, at Ellsworth, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Bailey Reed.

She worked as a nurse for Brookside Nursing Home. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lyndon. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and was an avid reader.

She married Curtis Walter Cronn, April 2, 1942. He died Jan. 4, 1952. She married Roy G. Smith, July 26, 1953. He died Aug. 12, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Reed; and a daughter, Martha DeSoignie.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy Smith, North Carolina, Marie Stringer, Topeka, and Beccy Strohm, Scranton; two sons, Charles Cronn, Lyndon, and Glen Smith, Auburn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Aug. 16 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Lyndon. Burial will follow at Scranton Cemetery, Scranton. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 15 at Carey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m.
