William F. White Jr.

Feb. 7, 1946 – Jan. 20, 2018

TOPEKA — William F. White Jr., Osage City, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Midland Care Hospice House, Topeka. He was 71. Family and friends lovingly surrounded him in the days prior to his death.

He was born Feb. 7, 1946, at Chanute, the son of William F. White Sr. and Marguerite F. White. After living in Emporia during his early childhood, he went to Osage City public schools and graduated from Osage City High School in 1965.

Gerald V. Wagoner

June 20, 1922 – Jan. 18, 2018

OVERBROOK — Gerald V. Wagoner, Scranton, formerly of Doniphan-Brown counties, died Thursday evening, Jan. 18, 2018, at Brookside Manor, Overbrook. He was 95.

He was born June 20, 1922, at Severance, one of three children born to Herman and Minnie Townley Wagoner. He grew up near Leona where he attended country school, later graduating from Leona High School with the class of 1940 prior to attending Highland Junior College.

Jacob Clinton Davies

Dec. 21, 1923 – Jan. 16, 2018

LEBO — Jacob Clinton Davies died Jan. 16, 2018. He was 94.

He was born Dec. 21, 1923, to Welsh parents Jacob and Olive Davies at Newman Hospital, Emporia. He was appreciative of his grandfather coming from Wales in the early 1880s to start the five-generation farm.

His grandfather was a Welsh immigrant settling in the area of Lyon and Osage counties. He spent his whole life as a farmer in the Welsh community of Arvonia township of Osage County just few miles away from Reading.

Michael Wayne Everhart

Died – Jan. 11, 2018

OSAGE CITY — Michael Wayne Everhart passed away at home Jan 11, 2018. He was 39.

He was born and raised in Ottawa. He lived there for part of his adult life.

Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Lindsay

Oct. 17, 1927 – Jan. 13, 2018

OSAGE CITY — Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Lindsay died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City.

Jacqueline Marie Curley was born Oct. 17, 1927, at Osage City, the daughter of James and Emma Martin Curley. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1945.

She married Duane R. Lindsay June 19, 1947, at Osage City. He preceded her in death in 2007, after 59 years of marriage.

Albertina Rose Patterson

April 3, 1924 – Jan. 14, 2018

CARBONDALE — Albertina “Tina” Rose Patterson, Carbondale, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018. She was 93.

She was born April 3, 1924, at Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Frank and Annie Gregorio Silva.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Scranton, Ladies Alter and Rosary Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Carbondale and was a past member of the Carbondale Fire Department for over 20 years.

She married John H. Patterson July 17, 1944, at Boston, Mass. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2000.

Dean Croucher

Sept. 15, 1935 – Jan. 14, 2018

OSAGE CITY — Dean Croucher died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at his home in Osage City. He was 82.

He was born Sept. 15, 1935, at Burlingame, the son of Arthur and Emma Jones Croucher. He grew up in Burlingame and lived in Osage City most of his life.

He graduated from Osage City High School in 1953. He worked as an environmental manager for nursing homes in Osage City. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a member of the Eagles in Osage City.

Colleen Ann Bremer

Sept. 7, 1945 – Jan. 13, 2018

TOPEKA — Colleen Ann Bremer died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. She was 72.

She was born Sept. 7, 1945, at Seneca, the daughter of Cletus and Jeanette Nolte Wichman. She grew up in Holton and lived near Lyndon for many years before moving to Topeka in 2017.

She graduated from Holton High School in 1963. She was a homemaker and a saleswoman for Midway Wholesale in Topeka for several years.

Dortha Viola Bain Tucker

Jan. 5, 1926 – Jan. 11, 2018

OVERBROOK — Dortha Viola Bain Tucker died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Brookside Manor, Overbrook. She was 92.

She was born Jan. 5, 1926, at Pittsburg the daughter of Alonzo M. Bain and Fanny P. Lance Bain. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1943.

She married Seldon E. Tucker Nov. 28, 1946. He preceded her in death.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Lawrence R. Bain, Laura Hudson, Velma M. Pistole and Mable Erikson.
